Final Major Project (Proposal)

Final Major Project (Proposal)

The final unit has arrived! This is the last of the last, and i'm going to finish it off with making an interactive film! Before confirming that this was my final idea, I thought of other ideas like a 2D game or a short animation.

As said, my final project is going to be an interactive film, which consists of decision-making. What I mean by this is, that the film is going to be about 10 to 20 minutes long, and ever so often, the viewer can make the decisions on how the film “ends”

Influences, starting points and contextual references:

Influences would be because I enjoy making videos and I like to edit them myself. Editing is something that I’d like to take up as a future career. My starting point with this project would be to make a storyboard showing the scenes that I’m going to be filming. This also allows me to have a more straightforward idea of what/where to film.

Early ideas research and sources:  (What are your sources for contextual and personal research?)

My idea and inspiration originally came from video editing and recording videos in the past. I currently make YouTube videos, so editing is an essential part of that process and also is very enjoyable. I use a program called Sony Vegas Pro to edit and a program called Fraps to record full screen applications.

When it comes to editing and recording, I literally did no research, I was self taught throughout the process and have been doing so for three years. When it comes to inspiration, I’d definitely have to take that from YouTube and watching how other people interpret their own imagination and ideas in the form of editing. Because of the amount of knowledge/skill I have in this field, I definitely would like to produce a film for my final project.
